First, download the application installer from our download page. Please follow the instructions in the installer - note that you first need to install the IDL virtual machine or IDL full license in order to let the application work. MODO will initially startup in demo-mode, without the capability to run Modtran®.
MODO runs free of charge in demonstration mode. A free 30 day fully functional evaluation license key may be issued upon request. Please apply via email by sending your full address and affiliation if you are interested in such a license key.
After expiration of this temporary license, you will need to acquire a full license (see below). If not, you will only be able to run MODO in demonstration mode, which allows the handling of Modtran® outputs but does not support running Modtran® and Modtran® series.
Note that an evaluation key may only be issued once per person.
If you wish to gain access to the Modtran® executables within the utility, please pay the license fee by credit card through the KAGI software registration service - or send a checque directly to:

After payment, please send your identification from the licensing dialog to ReSe Applications Schläpfer to get a license code, which will enable the full feature set.
The license fee helps to maintain the application and to perform the upgrades, but is also required for payment of the Modtran® distribution license.
Note: A significant price reduction applies if you plan to use MODO in an educational environment.
